Talking about the realities of being unable to sleep, and ways to ‘restore’ yourself when sleep evades.
As anyone with a chronic illness will know, sometimes sleep just isn’t your friend. We’re trying to pace and rest and yet some nights are restless or pain disrupts a deep slumber.
It’s been one of those kind of weeks for me so I decided to mix it up one day, and head out for a stroll with the dog before work and bathe in the morning light. Not only can the early light help regulate the body clock, but gentle movement, within the energy envelope/spoons allocation, can make it easier to sleep at night. Back when I was more severely ill, this might have looked like letting in a little light to the bedroom. Wherever you are at, I hope you can find some rest.
When we can’t rest, sometimes we can find other ways to restore.
Wishing all my fellow Spoonies restoration today.
